Save the Trolling Batteries!

The Bass Maxx II from Wells Marine Technology of Farmingdale, New Jersey, allows the alternator to charge 12-, 24- or 36-volt trolling motor batteries while the boat’s engine is running. The Bass Maxx II passes along a continuous charge of up to 70 amps from the engine alternator. The device isolates trolling motor batteries from the engine start battery to prevent the trolling motor from accidentally running down the battery. The company says this helps electric trolling motors run longer and stronger, increasing fishing time. The Bass Maxx II is held in a weatherproof fiberglass housing with stainless steel hardware. It features an optional “hitch hiker” mode, which allows it to charge all batteries in the boat from a tow vehicle. Wells Marine Technology; 877-228-6299; wellsmarinetech.com.
